Further Education and Training Certificate: Early Childhood Development Level 4

SAQA Qualification ID 58761, NQF Level 4, 140 Credits

Introduction

A wide body of research, including research from the World Health Organisation, points to early childhood as being the most important phase for overall development of an individual’s intelligence, personality and social behaviour. The effects of neglect in these formative years can be cumulative and lasting. The Further Education and Training Certificate: Early Childhood Development will enable you to facilitate all- round development of young children in a manner that is sensitive to culture and individual needs (including special needs). It will also enable you to provide quality early childhood development services for children in a variety of contexts, including community-based services, ECD centres, at home and in institutions.
