Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe became the setting for the next phase of her life where she challenged herself physically and emotionally and did what “she wanted to do”, participating in adventures that were both extreme and exciting. She was the first African woman to guide rafts down the grade 5 white waters of the great Zambezi.
This led to a career with Contiki Africa as the Tour Manager for Zimbabwe. Here Nicola gained the street-wise, first–hand knowledge and experience in Tourism which led her to Johannesburg where she was promoted to Operations Manager for Africa, managing South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Tanzania Tours.
Nicola moved to a Destination Management Company after she was married, where she expanded her roles in Operations and Corporate Marketing and Sales. This included the Facilitation of Corporate events from Cape Town to Kenya.
From here, Nicola opened “NicUnLimited” and became a successful role-player in freelance Marketing and Sales for Publications, Corporate Facilitation of events with the Tourism Industry, and Motivational Presentations.
Nicola and her husband James embarked on a Sabbatical Year World Tour in February 2003. Throughout their travels they accumulated knowledge and information on each of the countries visited: United Kingdom, Canada, Alaska, the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
On their return, James and Nicola moved to Cape Town where Nicola furthered her education at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, graduating with an Associate in Management Business Certificate.
While completing her studies Nicola was the Managing Partner in Cape Spectacular Adventures, a tourism business in Cape Town, with the anchor product being The Hopper Helicopter flights.
